George was the winner of the PTA Silent Auction for Dessert in the Library! He brought a few friends, and we read some books and enjoyed root beer floats! A winning combination!
Our PTA does an annual silent auction, and this year I offered a student to invite some friends to have lunch in the library. Here is my highest bidder, with his friends, having pizza and crazy bread in the library! We had fun!
I am excited to begin this book I picked up at TLA last week. It came with a collection of word magnets, which is fun since the main character is a "word collector". Felicity is going to the town of Midnight Gulch, and she is looking for the magic that was lost there long ago. She wants to stay in Midnight Gulch since it is the first place she calls "home", but she must find the magic in order to stay. I wonder if she finds it...
I am reading Jacqueline Woodson's latest book, Brown Girl Dreaming. It is the story of her childhood told through prose. She grew up in the 60's and 70's, and moved between South Carolina and New York. She talks about the struggle she had with reading, but how she loved telling stories.
